Global Village Dubai Guide 2026-2027: Tickets, Pavilions & Tips
By Big Bird Travel Team
Global Village is back for its new winter season. Here is everything you need for a smooth visit - season dates, ticket prices, the pavilions and rides worth your time, where to eat, and how to get there from Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah.
Global Village is Dubai's biggest open-air culture, shopping and entertainment park, and for a few months each winter it becomes one of the best-value family nights out in the whole UAE. Dozens of country pavilions, hundreds of rides and games, street food from around the world and live shows all sit on one giant site - and because it runs as a limited season rather than year-round, it is very much a 'go now or wait a year' attraction. This guide covers everything you need for a smooth visit: when the current season runs, what entry costs, which pavilions and rides are worth your time, where to eat, and how to get there from Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah.
It is a seasonal park
Global Village closes through the hot summer months and reopens each October. The current (31st) season opened in mid-October 2026 and runs into spring 2027, so if it is on your list this winter, plan your visit before it closes for the year. Always confirm the exact opening and closing dates on the official Global Village channels before you travel.
When Is Global Village Open? Season Dates & Hours
Global Village operates one long season from autumn to spring. The 31st season opened in mid-October 2026 and is expected to run until around May 2027, closing for the summer afterwards. The park opens in the late afternoon and stays open late into the night, which suits the cooler evening weather in the UAE winter.
| Detail | Typical timing | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Season | Mid-October to ~May | One winter season, then closed for summer |
| Sun-Wed | Afternoon to midnight | Quieter weeknights, shorter queues |
| Thu-Sat & public holidays | Afternoon to ~1am | Busiest; fireworks on weekend nights |
| Mondays | Often a families & ladies day | Policy varies by season - verify |
Confirm hours and special days before you go
Opening hours, weekly themed days (such as a families and ladies day) and holiday timings change from season to season and can be adjusted at short notice. The timings above are general guidance only. Check the official Global Village website or app for the current day's hours before travelling, especially if you are driving in from another emirate.
Global Village Ticket Prices
General entry to Global Village is famously affordable - it is one of the cheapest major attractions in Dubai to get into. Entry is typically a little lower on weekdays than at weekends, children under a certain age and People of Determination usually enter free, and multi-visit season passes are sold for regulars. Rides, games and some special experiences are charged separately on top of entry.
| Ticket | Indicative price (AED) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Entry (Sun-Thu) | ~25 | Standard weekday gate price |
| Entry (Fri-Sat & holidays) | ~30 | Weekend and public holiday price |
| Children under ~3 & People of Determination | Free | Proof may be required |
| Season pass | Varies | Worth it for repeat visits |
Verify current fees before booking
Entry prices, free-entry age limits, season-pass rates and ride-credit packages change between seasons and with promotions. The figures above are indicative starting points for budgeting only. Verify the current fees on the official Global Village channels - or let Big Bird Travel confirm live prices and build a visit into your Dubai plans.
What to See: The Pavilions
The heart of Global Village is its ring of country and region pavilions, each one a themed hall packed with shops, crafts, snacks and performers. Over a single evening you can wander from one culture to the next, picking up spices, textiles, sweets and souvenirs and sampling food along the way. Favourites that regulars return to year after year include:
- India - textiles, jewellery, street-food favourites and a lively, colourful layout
- Pakistan - leather, handicrafts, dry fruits and hearty food stalls
- Turkiye - lamps, ceramics, Turkish delight, baklava and ice-cream showmen
- Iran - saffron, pistachios, carpets and sweets
- Egypt - papyrus, perfumes, cotton goods and bazaar-style shopping
- Africa, Europe, Yemen, Afghanistan and many more - each with its own character
Beyond the national pavilions, the site has themed zones, art installations, floating-market style areas and seasonal decorations that change from year to year, so no two seasons feel quite the same. Give yourself time to simply stroll - the people-watching and the atmosphere are half the experience.
Rides, Games & the Carnaval
Global Village is not only about shopping and food. The Carnaval area is a full fairground with thrill rides, family rides, a big wheel, game stalls and attractions aimed at everyone from toddlers to teenagers. There are usually stunt shows, roaming performers and limited-time attractions dotted around the park too.
Rides are paid separately
General entry gets you into the park and its pavilions, but rides and most games are charged on top, usually through a wristband or a loadable credit/card system. If your group plans to go on a lot of rides, a bundle of credits or a ride wristband often works out cheaper than paying per ride. Check the current ride-payment system when you arrive.
Food at Global Village
Food is one of the biggest reasons people come. You will find everything from sit-down restaurants to tiny street-food counters, and the pavilions each push their own national specialities. A few things worth trying:
- Street-food lanes with global snacks - from loaded fries and shawarma to desserts you will not find elsewhere
- Pavilion specialities - Turkish ice cream, Afghani and Pakistani grills, Indian chaat, Iranian sweets
- Viral and limited-edition treats that change each season
- Plenty of budget-friendly options, so a family can eat well without a big spend
Fireworks & Live Shows
Global Village typically stages fireworks on weekend evenings and around public holidays, along with regular concerts, cultural performances and fire or light shows through the week. Show schedules are announced each season and for special occasions such as UAE National Day and New Year, so check the calendar if a particular show is the reason for your visit.
Best Time to Visit & Insider Tips
- Go on a weeknight (Sunday to Wednesday) for smaller crowds and shorter ride queues.
- Arrive soon after opening - the park is cooler, calmer and easier to park at early in the evening.
- Wear comfortable shoes; the site is huge and you will walk a lot between pavilions.
- Carry a refillable water bottle and dress for a breezy winter evening after dark.
- Set a rough budget for rides and food before you go - small spends add up across a long evening.
- Save the fireworks for last and find a spot a few minutes before showtime on weekend nights.
- Visiting from out of town? Pair it with a daytime Dubai city tour so the whole day is covered.
How to Get to Global Village
Global Village sits in Dubailand, near the junction of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Emirates Road (E611), on the southern side of Dubai. It is an easy drive from across the UAE, and parking on site is free. Here are the main ways to arrive.
- 1.Drive from Dubai - roughly 25-40 minutes from most of the city depending on traffic, with large free car parks on site (arrive early on weekends, as the nearest lots fill fast).
- 2.Drive from Abu Dhabi - about 1 to 1.5 hours via the E311; an easy evening trip, though weekend traffic back can be slow after the fireworks.
- 3.Drive from Sharjah - around 30-45 minutes via Emirates Road, making it a simple cross-emirate night out.
- 4.Public transport - RTA runs bus services to Global Village during the season; routes and timings change each year, so check the RTA app for the current service, or use a taxi or ride-hailing app door to door.
- 5.Private transfer or tour - the most relaxed option, especially from Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, as someone else handles the driving, parking and the late-night return.
Coming from Abu Dhabi or Sharjah?
Because Global Village runs late into the night and the drive home can be long after a weekend visit, many out-of-emirate families prefer a private driver or a packaged evening so no one has to drive back tired. Big Bird Travel can arrange transfers and combine Global Village with a wider Dubai day out.
